Volunteers are the heart and sould of our organization.  Through the dedicated efforts of our very special volunteers, TSHR is able to help hundreds of horses and people.

It takes a lot of people power to keep things running smoothly at our facility.  We need volunteers to help with physical labor to keep the horses well cared for.  Imagine if you have one horse how much work that is now take that and add another 15+ horses.  Volunteers can help with the daily chorse which including grooming, feeding and providing TLC or they can assist with barn chores such as mucking stalls.  Sometimes its not glamorous work but the rewards are huge when you can see the horses look at you with grateful eyes and you know they are  happy where they are.

Along with the daily chorse we can always use help with upkeep such as fence mending, painting and organization.  There are plenty of opportunities for everyone to lend a hand! 

On the other hand if you want to groom and love on the horses you are more than welcome to stop by, as they love any and all positive attention.  Please call first to set a time so we have an idea of when to expect you.  Remember - if you say you'll be here, we're counting on you to show up and so are the horses.

Note:  Our Volunteer Program is not designed as a teaching/learning opportunity for riding lessons, horsemanship training, groundwork, medical care, etc.  Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age.  Children under the age of 18 are required to have a parent or guardian present.
